KOTO PERIOD (Circa 1450) WAKIZASHI SIGNED (KUNESHIGE)
A beautiful sword made in the Yamashirio Tradition. It has a very active hamon in nie, abundant chikei, nijuba and yubashiri through out the sword, with Horimono of a ken on the ura and sohie and Kanji on the omote. The blade is 171/4" long. The fittings are Sentoko and are complete with kozuka and kane mitsu signed kogatana blade. The saya is done in a fine emerald green lacquer which looks like moss on tree bark in the sun light (the lacquer is not worn through on the saya, it is supposed to look that way - mossy tree). The fittings are in old original condition and have not been tampered with. This is a beautiful and complete package ready to enjoy! NOTE I have had several people ask about the authenticity of this signature, I do not believe this signature to be "The" Hasabe Kunishige. If it were it would be in the 5 digit range. There were 2 other smiths who signed "Hasabe Kunishige" a little later than "The" Hasabe Kunishige. The price reflects a beautiful blade in beautiful old and complete mounts.
