Shodai Shimada Sukemune (TENMON 1532 SURUGA) CHÛJÔSAKU, Wazamono
He was the younger brother of Eishô Yoshisuke,
and is called Gojô Kyûzaemon. An very beautiful piece, fully restored
in Japan with mint koshirae, top quality shirasaya, gold foil habaki,
and excellent polish.
Nagasa 19.25 inches, a thick and stout blade.
Fuchi/kashira, Silver birds on a shakudo base.
Tsuba, Shakudo with wave motif and gold inlay.
Gold foil habaki and seppa.
High quality shakudo and gold shitodome.
