Hisayuki Jumonji Yari

This is a very special yari that I have owned for a few years now, I will be polishing it and posting my progress with pictures as it is being completed.

I will first complete the reshaping and removal of heavy pitting, then it goes off to John Tirado for a professionally made shirasaya. Once I receive the blade back from the scabbard maker I will complete the polish.

As you can immagine, these types of blades are very difficult to polish, even more so when reshaping needs to be done because of pitting or damage. A completely different set of stones have to be used, as well as different tools. Oh, and it is almost impossible not to receive many cuts to the palm of my hand when dealing with yari in general.
