The koshirae with this sword is in very good condition, there seems to be a small repair by a pro that is almost undetectable, there is also a small crack at the opening. These are Higo mounts, these mounts are harder to find as a complete set. The habaki is an older silver foil type.
The blade is a lengthy 28 inches and exhibits many beautiful activities, including large and small nie, nice bright nioi, sunagashi, tobiyaki, yabushiri and muneyaki as well. The hada is outstanding mokume mixed with itame, both extend into the shinogiji. The shinogiji is not masame. There are a couple of areas on the shinogiji that have some small loose grain, very small areas, they do not detract from the beauty of the blade. The nakago is very bizen as is the rest of the blade.
I cannot confirm the signature on this sword so the price is set accordingly. Bizen blades are rarely available and rarely available at this price.SOLD!
